Things to know about my diary/blog below;

First of all, when I use the term 'girls' ( I love to keep us all 'young' by this term) I mean any girls, doesn't matter whether young or in the autumn of their lives, these journeys for women, I believe, are ageless and boundless. Its not the age of a woman but her 'being', that makes these trips special.

Women who want to have a fun time, wish to step out of their comfort zone and are prepared to go with the flow, are the ones who join me. All types of good women have joined me in the past.

One year a wonderful woman in her 70's joined me in Bali. The thing, I think that attracts women, is the deeper picture and the ability to go with the flow that develops......... you can read more about my tours' points of difference and philosophies here , what other women thought here, or read all about my coming adventures and the latest tours below.

Bali November 07 Highlights

Filed under: Bali Tours — @ 9:52 am

Bali has now seen another fab group of Kiwi women on the move, Bali Style.

I thought I may have been able to blog you some updates from Bali however computers were few and far between on this journey. So heres a wee few of our travel highlights.

Nov in Bali is very warm and at times the rain soothed the humidity and cooled the air. The rain sudden and quickly over. Have you ever noticed how beautiful the colours are in nature after a tropical downpour?

Meeting up with Paula in Sydney, we all flew together to Dempasar, Bali. Flying over Australia, controlled bush fires were evident and we were greeted with an amazing sunset as day turned to night. Already the cameras were capturing the moment. Our holiday had begun, so different from NZ and exciting to experience life on a small island with an incredible history.

As always the Balinese lifestyle seeped into our being after a couple of days and life took on a new adventure and a whole new meaning. The first few days were orientating ourselves, realising we packed far too many clothes and less and light became the optimal items.

Together with our wonderful, humble driver, Wayan, we explored the road West and North, taking many roads less travelled. The once Dutch settlement of Lovina, saw us eating local food at its best, and many a youngster surrounding Jill as she attempted to photograph some still life.

Ubud, a day of culture. Massage, weaving, painting and becoming musicians girls style brought out the artists in all of us.We all know how to make the best satays after our cooking school and soon to experiment with the recipes back here at home.

Lembongan Island proved to be a wee quiet retreat and we sought the pool for refreshing dips and definitely a pool with a view. Seaweed Farms are Lembongan’s main source of income for sushi and the beauty industry, being exported far afield. The locals were a source of great knowledge and we learnt much. An outrigger boat and kiwi girls with snorkel gear on, explored the island and its water from offshore. A treat Norma will never forget.

Once again we visited the Orphanage prior to our departure home, and how the building is taking on a new lease of life with its renovations and additions coming to fruition. The children happy and well cared for.

For me personally, the highlight is always about meeting new people, having new experiences and returning back to New Zealand with new friendships and connections.

Thank you …
Norma, for your dry sense of humour, no matter what. For your sense of adventure and being an ageless role model for us.
Jill, for your ever so present laughter, your caring for others and your zest for life.
And to Paula, for your banking skills as we worked out all the noughts, for your ability to go with the flow, your quiet nurturing and love of the dance.

May your Bali experiences add to your kaleidoscopes of life.
